Under which THEOLOGICAL cirstances does the conundrum of "ex nihilo" (out of nothing) make any sense?

The whole question pre-supposes the nature of 'somethingness' [that which was created or otherwise is believed to exist] which places boundaries on any answer falling outside the bounds of the narrowly limited alternatives. Attempting to prove or disprove either or both of two flawed premises locked in competition for acceptance as one true, the other false can't be done. Can't even be reasonably attempted.
